This is a jobless post. But one that I've been wanting to put up for a while.

This is put up to savour those last few moments of peace, quiet, and general sanity before the madness begins at work.

This is also for a certain blogger, who wanted to know what I "listened to".

I like talking to people who want to know what I'm listening to.

This blog serves as a worthy medium for aforementioned purpose.

Gone are the days (those blissful law school days..an isolated, perennially windy campus...lake-facing rooms....wide open spaces) when I surrounded myself with music.....whether it be waking up (timer on the comp...Judas Priest, AC/DC, Megadeth for the mornings).....hunkering down for a cup of tea after class (Led Zep, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, SRV, the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd).....and dozing off to sleep at night (Floyd, delta blues, Norah Jones, John McLaughlin...and, yes, ghazals too).

No more, sadly. I live in a corner of the house that is surrounded on 3 sides by neighbours' bedrooms. These neighbours are the epitome of geriatricity. Ergo, no loud music. No music period.

I work in an office where only the boss gets to play loud music (and sing in the bathroom). I work with people who either don't care much for music, or listen to stuff I don't care about...they certainly don't think very highly of what I listen to...but, fuck them.

So, it's out with the earphones. But I try not to listen to too much music while working. I have this terrible habit of typing lyrics in my documents (while listening to music and working). Though the idea seems rather novel (legal pleadings a la James Hetfield), but I doubt it my clients or some of the more crotchety judges out there would appreciate it.

Anyhow, what is Crowley humming and drumming to these days? Besides the usual bouquet of Metallica, Megadeth, Led Zep, Floyd etc., we have:

Dream Theater
Liquid Tension Experiment
Porcupine Tree
Rush
Lots of guitar wizardry - Satriani, Malmsteen, Erik Mongrain, John Petrucci
LOTS of drum wizardry - Steve Smith, Buddy Rich, Mike Portnoy, Virgil Donati
Lamb of God, Kamelot
Jeff Healy, Johnny Lang, John Coltrane
...oh, and a renewed love for Korn and Marilyn Manson

Since interactive posts seem to be catching on these days, and since they're fun, readers...feel free to blab what you lot are listening to these days.
